Chikungunya continues to spread, with new cases reported in Vacoas, Glen Park, Phoenix, Tamarin, La Preneuse, and Le Morne. The country now has more than 200 cases. Dr. Fazil Khodabocus, the interim director of health services, provides updates on the situation and urges vigilance.

Additionally, two new cases of leptospirosis have been recorded in Mauritius. The two patients, both in their sixties, include a gardener from Trèfles and a resident of Mont-Ida. Both have been hospitalized and their health is considered stable. Since the beginning of the year, 18 cases of leptospirosis have been reported in the country, including four deaths.

On another note, the two individuals who tested positive for mpox are still hospitalized, while two others are in self-isolation. Contact tracing is ongoing, assures the Ministry of Health.
