May 1st: Focus on Workers' Rights and the Future of the Trade Union Movement in 'At the Heart of the News'

In conjunction with Labor Day, the show 'At the Heart of the News' will focus on workers' rights and the future of the trade union movement this Monday afternoon.

Does May 1st still hold its significance today, or has its impact diminished over the years? In a changing economic landscape, marked by new challenges and rising expectations, is there still progress to be made to improve working conditions and safeguard social achievements?

Another key question: does the absence of large rallies this year reflect a disinterest from politicians in this symbolic date, or is it indicative of a transformation in forms of activism and engagement?

To discuss these topics, Patrick Hilbert will host Ashvin Gudday, negotiator for the General Workers Federation, Reaz Chuttoo, president of the Confederation of Public and Private Sector Workers, and Tulsiraj Benydin, former unionist and former parliamentarian. Three viewpoints, three experiences, to analyze current issues and future perspectives.

Tune in this afternoon starting at 5 PM on Radio Plus. The show will also be streamed live on Facebook and on the TelePlus channel on YouTube.
