Assault in Mahébourg: A Man Accused of Assaulting His Aunt

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Mahébourg yesterday, accused of assaulting his 69-year-old aunt.

According to initial reports, the suspect allegedly struck her with a broom while shouting insults, before attempting to attack her with a sword.

The victim, injured, received medical treatment at the hospital before returning home.

The suspect has been detained pending his court appearance this Monday.
