Île Plate: Musician Luke Ricardo Romeo Found Dead

The musician Luke Ricardo Romeo, who had been missing since last Saturday at Île Plate, was found dead yesterday.

At 52 years old and a resident of Grand Baie, he had been on a sea excursion when he left the boat for a walk on the island, never returning to the vessel, according to the skipper.

Search operations, quickly initiated by the National Coast Guard, faced initial challenges due to unfavorable weather conditions.

His body was ultimately discovered yesterday by joint teams from the NCG, the SSU, and commandos.

The remains have been transferred to the Northern Hospital. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact causes of death.
