Fraud Involving Four Chinese Nationals: A 77-Year-Old Woman Shares Her Experience
"They made me believe that I would be involved in a serious car accident." This is the testimony of a 75-year-old woman who fell victim to a scam orchestrated by four Chinese nationals.
The suspects allegedly convinced this resident of the capital to hand over jewelry and money for a supposed special prayer, making her believe that she would soon be the victim of a car accident.
During a search at their accommodation in Trou-aux-Biches, investigators seized jewelry, more than 30,000 rupees, as well as foreign currencies, including pounds sterling, euros, and US dollars.
The septuagenarian agreed to testify on condition of anonymity.
It is noteworthy that two new complaints have been filed against the suspects, who are currently in police custody.
