Workplace Violence: Prosecutions and Sanctions Under Review, Announces Minister Uteem

The Ministry of Labour is collaborating with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to ensure that cases of violence in the workplace are prosecuted and penalized. This announcement was made by Minister Reza Uteem on Thursday, April 30th.

He spoke this morning during a workshop organized as part of the activities marking Labour Day, celebrated on May 1st. The discussions focused on a symposium dedicated to mental health in the workplace.

According to the minister, nearly 840,000 workers worldwide die each year from stress-related illnesses and mental health disorders.

Reza Uteem emphasized that the psychological well-being of employees is directly linked to the performance and productivity of businesses.
