[PMQT] Navin Ramgoolam Discusses Future Strategy of Air Mauritius
During the Prime Minister’s Question Time (PMQT) at the National Assembly on April 28, Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam addressed the future strategy of Air Mauritius. He recalled that the air corridor between Asia and Africa via Mauritius, launched on March 11, 2016, was abandoned in 2017 due to several structural weaknesses that led to financial losses. At this point, there are no plans to revive this corridor.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that Air Mauritius has engaged a consulting firm to review its network and fleet. The national airline is currently working on new strategies aimed at improving its performance and enhancing its resilience against emerging challenges.
