Disappearance in Albion: "He dove; at one moment, I could no longer find him"
A fishing trip off the coast of Albion turned tragic. Mike Bagan, 50, was on a boat with friends, not far from the lighthouse, yesterday morning, Thursday, April 30. At one point, this Albion resident is said to have dived. Since then, he has been missing.
In a complaint filed with the Petite-Rivière police, one of his friends stated that Mike Bagan had mentioned he was going to catch some octopuses. He then dove but never resurfaced. Search efforts are ongoing to locate the fifty-year-old.
"We set out on the boat around 7:00 AM. Mike told us he wanted to dive. He dove. At one moment, I could no longer find him. (...) The sea was calm," confided Ibrahim, another fishing friend. The friends of the victim, who were on the boat, searched for him but to no avail. They later informed the National Coast Guard. "Mike was a swimmer and diver," added Ibrahim.
