Over Rs 1.5 million for the May 1 concert, excluding transport costs for CNT and Metro Express

The May 1 concert, organized by the government at the Port Louis City Hall to celebrate Labor Day, cost the state Rs 1,590,586. This was revealed by the Minister of Labor, Reza Uteem, during the Private Notice Question from the opposition leader, Joe Lesjongard, on Tuesday in Parliament. Furthermore, this amount does not include the public transport costs incurred that day to transport attendees to Port Louis. Reza Uteem explained that the CNT had not yet submitted invoices, but initial indications suggest that the national bus company deployed 29 buses for the occasion.
