The Deputy Prime Minister Highlights the Potential of Women's Entrepreneurship
On Saturday, May 9, Arianne Navarre-Marie, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, presided over a dual ceremony in Réduit organized by the National Women’s Council (NWC). The event was dedicated to the awarding of prizes for the "She Creates" competition, as well as the allocation of annual grants to women’s associations and regional committees.
The competition honored three winners for their creativity and potential economic contribution. Persand Toswareesing won first place, receiving Rs 25,000, followed by Ponen Sayadevi with Rs 15,000, and Laurent Marie Rose Monne with Rs 10,000. Trophies and certificates were also awarded to all participants.
In parallel, the government allocated funds to support women’s associations. A total of 474 women’s associations each received a grant of Rs 5,000, while 9 regional committees benefited from financial support of Rs 10,000 each.
