Fight Against Chikungunya: Anil Bachoo Claims Support from WHO

The strategy deployed by health authorities to combat chikungunya was extensively discussed during the PNQ (Parliamentary Question Time) in the National Assembly on Tuesday, May 12. Opposition leader Joe Lesjongard questioned Health Minister Anil Bachoo about the fumigation measures and products used in the fight against vector-borne diseases in Mauritius.

Joe Lesjongard specifically inquired whether the ministry had a report from the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the chemicals used during anti-mosquito operations. In response, Anil Bachoo assured that the WHO works closely with Mauritian authorities and regularly participates in meetings organized by his ministry. "The WHO commends our government and our ministry for the good work accomplished," the minister stated before the deputies.
