Basic Retirement Pension: Decrease in Beneficiaries

The number of beneficiaries receiving the Basic Retirement Pension (BRP) has decreased. According to figures from Statistics Mauritius, 275,732 people were receiving the BRP in April, down from 276,532 in March, marking a decline of 800 beneficiaries. This downward trend has been ongoing since the beginning of the year. In January, the number of beneficiaries was 277,970, which then fell to 277,233 in February, a decrease of 737 individuals.

In total, there has been a reduction of 2,238 beneficiaries since the start of the year.
