In a context marked by the rise of online commerce and the increase in illicit trafficking, the government is enhancing its international cooperation to better secure its borders. Every day, between 4,000 and 5,000 packages pass through Mauritian territory, presenting a major challenge for customs authorities in detecting drugs, weapons, and fraud related to the undervaluation of goods.
