Rodrigues: Accelerating Procedures for Allocating Residential Land to Professionals

On Friday, May 15, under the leadership of Chief Commissioner Franceau Grandcourt, the Executive Council of Rodrigues decided to expedite the procedures for allocating state residential land to eligible Rodrigues professionals.

The Chief Commissioner’s Office and the State Land Commission have been tasked with implementing "fast track procedures" to prioritize requests from Rodrigues professionals who meet the established criteria. This initiative aims to facilitate access to housing and encourage the sustainable settlement of professionals on the island, amidst ongoing land issues that significantly affect many Rodrigues families and workers.

The Executive Council believes that this approach could also help strengthen certain sectors that require local expertise while providing greater stability for the beneficiaries involved.
