Mega FAM Trip 2026 Puts Mauritius in the Spotlight of Global Tourism

Mauritius will host 85 international tourism professionals as part of the Mega FAM Trip 2026, a large-scale promotional event organized by the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) from May 24 to 29, aimed at enhancing the international visibility of the destination.

Considered one of the most significant tourism marketing initiatives in recent years, this event will bring together tour operators, travel agents, destination specialists, media representatives, and tourism partners from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Indian Ocean region.

Participants from France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, India, South Africa, Réunion, and South Korea will explore various aspects of the island through experiences focused on gastronomy, luxury hospitality, culture, heritage, wellness, adventure, nature, water activities, and golf.

The program will kick off on May 24 at L’Aventure du Sucre, followed by three days of immersion across the island. A networking session bringing together international buyers and Mauritian operators is also scheduled for May 28 at the InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava to promote new partnerships and business opportunities. The event will conclude with a gala dinner at Les Palétuviers.

The Mega FAM Trip 2026 also fits into a broader context of strengthening regional tourism cooperation between Mauritius and South Africa, with discussions about improving air connectivity and developing regional tourism.

The MTPA recalls that a first edition organized in November 2021, following the reopening of borders, brought together 109 professionals from 12 countries and contributed to revitalizing the destination during the post-pandemic recovery.
