A truism: violence has gained ground on our island. Not a day goes by without reports of women being beaten, gang-related conflicts among drug dealers, or fights in schools or colleges... However, there is another form of violence that receives less attention in the media. The corporal punishment inflicted on children by their own parents, particularly fathers, within homes. This is a shame for our society.
