Studies and Employment: The University of Mauritius Forms a Partnership with UCL
The University of Mauritius (UoM) has taken a significant step in enhancing its international collaborations. The Council of Ministers, which met on June 5, approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding between UoM and University College London (UCL) in the UK. This agreement focuses on the Industry Exchange Network (IXN) program, a model launched by UCL in 2011, which is now recognized as an international benchmark for project-based higher education and student employability.
The memorandum establishes a three-year cooperation framework between the two institutions. It includes sharing best academic practices within educational programs that enable students to work on real projects proposed by businesses and organizations during their studies. The collaboration will also involve joint project coordination and the development of educational pathways tailored to labor market needs. Additionally, both universities will work on promoting and disseminating the results from the student projects.
Through this partnership, UoM aims to strengthen the connections between academia and the professional sector while providing students with more opportunities to develop practical skills and gain experience aligned with employer expectations.
