[Budget 2026/2027] Navin Ramgoolam: "I don't have a magic wand in my hand..."
Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam stated that he will have to consider the challenging state of the Mauritian economy as the next budget approaches. This was during a ceremony to mark the start of the sugar cane harvest on Sunday, June 7, at Kovil Amma Tookay in Camp-Diable. "With the war, the whole world is affected... The situation has become more complicated," he added. According to him, the government's room for maneuver has decreased in light of international circumstances, particularly due to the war in the Middle East.
