International Yoga Day Celebrated on June 21 in Côte-d’Or

On June 21, International Yoga Day will be marked by activities aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being. The Council of Ministers, which met on June 5, acknowledged the initiatives organized by the Ministry of Health and Wellness for this commemoration. This year's theme is "Yoga for Wellness, Wisdom, and World Peace," aimed at raising public awareness about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits associated with this practice.

Around the world, yoga sessions and various activities are organized in parks, schools, workplaces, community centers, and homes. These initiatives encourage healthier lifestyles and a greater focus on well-being and mindfulness in daily life.

In Mauritius, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the High Commission of India, will host an official ceremony on June 21 at the Côte-d’Or National Sports Complex. The program will include yoga demonstrations led by certified instructors as well as exhibitions. Through this celebration, the authorities aim to promote the benefits of yoga as a tool for prevention, well-being, and balance, while encouraging the adoption of health-promoting lifestyle habits.
