To: Ambassador Irada Zeynalova and the 14,000 Russians living in Mauritius
Dear friends,
I hope you are settling in comfortably on our island after leaving Mother Russia. The warm climate and hospitality of our people must have assured you that relocating from the 11 time zones you left behind was the right decision.
While we may not have the millennia-long history and culture that you do, we are eager to learn from you and welcome the contributions you can make to enrich our experience. Your country has already begun to share its remarkable music and dance with us, and we are looking forward to the Russian Classics concert scheduled for June 14. Additionally, your local association is offering Russian language classes, which will give Mauritians valuable insights into the masterpieces of Russian literature. The visit from the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University delegation this week will further enhance opportunities for our citizens to pursue tertiary education in your country.
The potential for collaboration is immense. You may be aware that we send our patients abroad for treatments that are not possible here; Moscow’s advanced hospitals can become an essential destination for those seeking recovery.
June 12 marks your National Day. We extend our warmest wishes to you. May your country, under President Putin’s enlightened leadership, continue to thrive. We hope for Russia to remain a leader in science and space exploration, among other fields, and we appreciate your role as a significant player in addressing global challenges.
Wishing you a joyful National Day.
