Murder in Quatre-Bornes: The Weapon of Crime Found in a Drain

Following the tragic event that occurred on the night of Thursday, June 4, 2026, which claimed the life of a 38-year-old man in his home in Quatre-Bornes, the police have recovered the murder weapon. A 30-centimeter kitchen knife was located by law enforcement during a sweep conducted in the vicinity of the victim’s residence.

According to initial findings from the investigation, the main suspect reportedly indicated to the CID investigators in Quatre-Bornes the exact location where she had concealed the weapon: a concrete drain bordering the road adjacent to her home. The piece of evidence has been sealed and sent to the police forensic laboratory for fingerprint and DNA analysis.

For context, police and emergency services were alerted following a violent domestic altercation and arrived at the scene to discover the lifeless body of the victim, a man from Rodrigues, lying on the floor. The man had sustained a severe stab wound to the thigh, severing an artery and causing fatal bleeding, according to the autopsy conducted on June 5.

The suspect remains in police custody. Additionally, the deceased's relatives have begun administrative procedures to repatriate his remains to Rodrigues for his funeral.
