Witness to the Iranian Attack on the American Base of al-Udeid - A Mauritian in Qatar: 'I Saw the Missiles Go By One After Another'

A Mauritian woman, residing in Qatar with her family, witnessed the Iranian missile attack on the American base of al-Udeid while preparing to board a flight to Dubai on Monday evening. Wishing to remain anonymous, she recounts this intensely rare experience: "Of course, I did not expect to live through such an event. Never seen, never heard, never imagined," she explains, still in shock.

The incident occurred as she was checking in near one of the large glass windows at Doha International Airport. "It was my children who first saw a light in the sky. Then I saw the missiles coming in, one after another. I counted three or four. It’s important to know that the American base is right next to the airport."

The scene, described as surreal, initially caused disbelief: "At first, I thought they were just lights in the sky." Gradually, fear set in. "We really felt like we were in a movie. We are used to seeing people flee with their luggage... and now it was our turn. We even forgot where our parking was. We missed our boarding gate."

While she mentions not observing immediate panic around her, her husband, who was with her, reported more chaotic scenes. "People advised us to leave as quickly as possible." The family ultimately decided to abandon their planned trip to Mauritius via Dubai that night. "It was my daughter who said to me: 'Mom, come on, we need to leave.' We decided to postpone our departure for a few days. I need to recover first."
