La Cure Waves claimed their first major trophy on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over Chebel Citizen in the Republic Cup final. The Waves particularly benefitted from an outstanding performance by Ivan Ami, who helped them dominate the Citizens. Both teams from the Super League had a somewhat challenging season, with the Port Louis side experiencing a frustrating second-place finish, while the Villes-Sœurs club managed to escape relegation at the last minute.
