Meeting with Sorab and Shaheer Nazurally, Dairy Farmers for Three Generations

In Mont Ida, on Câteaux Verts Avenue, Sorab Nazurally, 53, and his son Shaheer, 26, continue a family tradition of dairy farming passed down through three generations. Every day, starting at 4:30 AM, they milk their cows and deliver fresh milk to local residents.
Sorab learned the trade from his father, who has been a farmer since 1962. Today, he still supplies loyal families who have been with him for years. However, he laments that young people often prefer industrial milk over fresh milk. Despite the challenges, his passion for his animals drives him to persevere, even as he also works as a welder to make ends meet.
Shaheer proudly supports his father. For him, helping his parents and preserving this heartfelt profession is vital. Together, they embody a valuable expertise that is threatened but still very much alive.
