Île-aux-Bénitiers: Around 50 Operators Will Resume Operations After Cleaning

On Île-aux-Bénitiers, approximately 50 operators will be able to resume their activities once the cleaning work is fully completed. This was stated on Sunday by Deputy Prime Minister Paul Bérenger during a ministerial visit to the island.

Paul Bérenger clarified that a temporary period will be established during which these operators can operate daily, but without permanent installations. After each day of activities, the operators will need to collect all their belongings and waste and leave the area.

He also announced that the island is completely closed to the public until the cleaning work is finished. This decision aims to allow teams to operate more efficiently and safely.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister indicated that three-quarters of the island will be dedicated to a natural park.

He explained that the idea of temporarily relocating the operators to the South had been considered, but after today's assessments, he and the ministers deemed it too far away.

"We need to brainstorm to find a suitable location. A solution must be found," he added.
