Anticyclone: Warning of Strong Swells and Gusts of 70 km/h

A warning for strong swells is in effect in Mauritius. A powerful anticyclone to the south-southwest of the Mascarenes is causing a moderate trade wind flow in our region.
The weather will be cloudy with intermittent showers, especially in the East, South, and on the central plateau. Pockets of fog may reduce visibility in some areas, as indicated by the weather station in its bulletin issued this Tuesday.
Maximum temperatures will be slightly below normal, ranging from 18 to 20 °C on the central plateau and between 22 and 25 °C in coastal areas. Minimum temperatures will vary between 15 and 17 °C in higher regions and between 19 and 21 °C along the coasts.
Winds will blow from the southeast at 25 to 35 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h. Caution is advised when maneuvering on elevated structures and on roads exposed to crosswinds.
The open sea will be very rough with swells of about 4 meters. Waves may crash onto the low coastal areas of the West and South, especially at high tide.
