Murder of Danaa Malabar: Her Husband Claimed She Was Missing and Posted a Video to Find Her
Brandon Malabar, a 31-year-old TikTok user, confessed to murdering his wife, 25-year-old Danaa Laeticia Malabar, following yet another domestic dispute. On Wednesday, October 15, he presented himself to the police and admitted to stabbing the young woman with whom he had lived for six years.
The suspect led investigators to an abandoned house in Curepipe, where Danaa's body was found with several injuries. Her mother had reported her missing the previous Sunday after Danaa left her home. A quarrel between the couple, which had continued at a shopping center in Beau-Vallon, preceded her disappearance.
Earlier in the week, Brandon had posted a video on TikTok asking the public for help in finding his missing wife, all while having committed the crime himself. Under questioning from the investigators of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) in Eau Coulée, he eventually revealed everything.
An autopsy is planned to determine the exact cause of death. The couple, who were very active on TikTok, had previously portrayed an image of a united household through their videos.
