Weather: Chenge is expected to pass about 50 km north of Agaléga tonight.
As of 1 PM, the moderate tropical storm Chenge was located at latitude 10.2° South and longitude 58.9° East, approximately 250 km east of Agaléga. It is moving generally west at a speed of 12 km/h, according to the fourth statement issued by the Vacoas weather station for Agaléga on Thursday, October 23.
According to the weather forecast, Chenge poses a direct threat to Agaléga and is expected to pass about 50 km north of the archipelago starting tonight. Active clouds associated with the storm will affect the weather on the island from the evening, bringing moderate to heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms.
Winds will blow from the south at around 50 km/h and are expected to gradually strengthen as Chenge approaches, with gusts reaching up to 100 km/h. The sea will be very rough, with swells reaching about 5 meters. It is strongly advised not to venture out to sea.
The public in Agaléga is also urged to:

- Prepare an emergency kit ready for use.
- Secure boats.
