Investigation on Mamy Ravatomanga – Nasser Beekhy: "At the very top, I am denouncing"

"At the very top, I am denouncing": a brief statement from Nasser Beekhy before his transfer from the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) to appear in court this morning.

Nasser Beekhy was arrested by the FCC at Plaisance Airport on Friday night as he was about to leave the country. He is suspected of conspiracy to commit influence peddling for the benefit of Malagasy businessman Mamy Ravatomanga.

This resident of Vallée-Pitot is facing a provisional charge. Beekhy is accused of having arranged, with a certain David Jean Christian Thomas - an associate of Mamy Ravatomanga (whose real name is Maminiaina Ravatomanga) - to meet with a senior FCC official to influence the course of an investigation involving the Malagasy mogul.

The alleged events are said to have occurred on October 15 in Port-Louis.
