Nasser Beekhy: "I reported cases of influence peddling to the PMO... I don't understand what the FCC is accusing me of"
Nasser Osman Beekhy appeared in court in Port Louis on Monday, October 27, 2025, where he was charged with a provisional offense of conspiracy. The offense allegedly occurred on October 15, 2025, in Port Louis. The Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) opposed his release on bail, and he will remain in custody until November 3, 2025.
"I am the one who made many reports. I even went to the Prime Minister's office on Wednesday evening to report. I don't understand how the FCC can accuse me of influence peddling," Beekhy told reporters after his court appearance.
The resident of Vallée-Pitot is accused of conspiring with a certain David Jean Christian Thomas—a close associate of Mamy Ravatomanga (real name Maminiaina Ravatomanga)—to meet with a senior official from the FCC to influence the course of an investigation targeting the Malagasy tycoon.
