Bank of Mauritius: Court Orders Recognition of BOMEU

The Employment Relations Tribunal (ERT) has made a ruling: the Bank of Mauritius Employees Union (BOMEU) will now be the officially recognized union of the Bank of Mauritius (BoM).

In its order issued on Monday, November 3, the ERT concluded that BOMEU holds an absolute majority of employees within the relevant negotiation unit and ordered the BoM to initiate collective bargaining discussions with the union.

This decision follows a pivotal session on October 24.
