Union Victory for the Bank of Mauritius Employees Union

Positive outcome for Chid Rughoobur, president of the Bank of Mauritius Employees Union (BOMEU). The Employment Relations Tribunal (ERT) has ordered the Bank of Mauritius to officially recognize the union as the sole authorized representative for negotiations with management. In its ruling, the Tribunal highlighted that more than half of the employees support BOMEU within the bargaining unit. This is a significant union victory for BOMEU and its president Chid Rughoobur, who has been suspended from his analyst position at the Bank of Mauritius since July due to an ongoing police investigation.
