Nasser Beekhy and His Lawyers Absent in Court, Request for Conditional Release Denied

On Monday, November 3, 2025, the Port Louis court ruled in favor of the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC). They requested the denial of Nasser Osman Beekhy's motion for release due to his absence, as well as that of his attorneys, namely Samad Golamaully and Ashley Hurhangee. The request was granted by Magistrate Nader Ali Caunhye.

Nasser Osman Beekhy (64 years old) is accused of collusion in a crime allegedly committed on October 15, 2025.

Attorney Trishul Naga, representing the FCC, informed the court that he had no information regarding whether Nasser Osman Beekhy would appear in court, as he was readmitted today after being authorized to leave the clinic. The FCC attorney expressed that it was disrespectful for Nasser Osman Beekhy's lawyers to be absent from court on a day the case was on the schedule. The two lawyers are required to provide a written explanation for their absence.
