Junaid Fakim: The Medical Team Will Decide on Further Intervention, According to the FCC

Junaid Fakim is still admitted to Welkin Clinic, where he underwent an angiography. Unable to appear before the Rose-Hill court on Monday, November 3rd, his bail motion has been postponed. The case will be called again on Thursday, November 6th, when the court will be informed of his health status.

Sgt. Mongelard from the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) testified that he visited the clinic in the morning. Fakim's treating physicians explained that the patient underwent an angiography on Sunday, and the results should be available later that day or by tomorrow at the latest. Based on these results, the medical team will decide if further intervention is necessary.

Magistrate Arun Ruhomally has thus postponed the case to Friday, November 6th.

It is worth noting that Junaid Fakim resigned from his position as FCC Commissioner on October 25th, 2025. He was questioned under warning before being arrested on Thursday, October 30th, as part of the investigation into businessman Mamy Ravatomanga for alleged money laundering.

During his hearing, Fakim spoke about the meeting on October 14th in Quatre-Bornes, which included Mamy Ravatomanga. The former commissioner claims he left the meeting as soon as he understood it could lead to a conflict with his duties, denying any attempts at influence.

Junaid Fakim is currently facing two provisional charges: a public official using office for gratification and breach of confidentiality, regarding actions taken while he was at the FCC.
