Riche-Terre: Chinese Worker Who Lost His Leg Dies from Injuries

Riche-Terre: A 51-year-old Chinese worker, who was the victim of a serious road accident on Monday afternoon in Riche-Terre, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday.

The tragedy occurred when the van he was in crashed head-on into a guardrail before coming to a stop against an electric pole.

Severely injured and having lost his right leg, the man was admitted to intensive care at the Northern hospital, where his condition was deemed critical.

Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries.

The 58-year-old driver of the vehicle tested negative for alcohol. He is currently under police investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine the exact cause of the victim's death.

This new tragedy brings the total number of road fatalities to 103 since the beginning of the year.
