Metro Express: Partial Resumption of Service After Midday Technical Incident

In a statement released this afternoon, Metro Express Ltd (MEL) announced the partial resumption of its operations following a technical issue that occurred around midday. Thanks to the swift intervention of its teams, metro service is now operating normally between Phoenix and Port Louis (Place d’Armes), in both directions. However, service remains interrupted between Curepipe Central and Phoenix Mall.

The technical incident, which occurred near the Sadally station, necessitated the suspension of service on this segment. Engineering and maintenance teams are actively working to resolve the issue and ensure the safety of the network.

MEL reminds users that the initial interruption occurred around 11:47 AM. Passengers affected by the Curepipe Central–Palmerston segment are advised to avoid the stations and seek alternative transport.

Management apologizes for the inconveniences caused and assures that all efforts are being made to restore full operation of Line 1.
