Rose-Hill/Beau-Bassin: 12-Year-Old Steals Car and Injures Two in Hit-and-Run Incident

In Rose-Hill/Beau-Bassin, a 12-year-old boy was arrested by the Beau-Bassin police yesterday, Sunday, November 30, after being accused of stealing a woman's car in Quatre-Bornes that morning. The victim reported to the police that the keys to her vehicle were in her handbag.

About twenty minutes later, the minor was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Rose-Hill, injuring a mother and her son who were in another vehicle.

The police initiated a pursuit and intercepted the vehicle in Beau-Bassin. The boy was then handed over to the Quatre-Bornes police in the presence of his mother for investigation purposes.

The minor is currently hospitalized for treatment, while investigators are trying to determine how he managed to drive the vehicle from Quatre-Bornes to Rose-Hill and Beau-Bassin.
