Mamy Ravatomanga Undergoes Medical Examinations at PMOC Hospital Before Transfer to Melrose Prison
Mamy Ravatomanga underwent medical examinations at PMOC Hospital in Candos this Tuesday. He was then placed in an observation room while awaiting the medical results. The procedure took place under police escort and in the presence of agents from the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC). It is expected that the Malagasy businessman will be transferred to Melrose Prison this Tuesday.
The decision for his transfer was made on Monday, December 1st, by the Port-Louis court. The police assure that Melrose Prison has the necessary services for the care of sick inmates.
Last Thursday, the FCC requested his transfer to this high-security prison, stating that there was no justification for Mamy Ravatomanga's continued detention in a police cell.
The Malagasy billionaire faces a provisional charge of conspiracy as well as two charges of money laundering before the Port-Louis court.
