Jet Ski Accident in Dubai: Repatriation Procedures for Saniah Hobass Underway

Repatriation procedures for the remains of Saniah Hobass have already been initiated with the authorities in Dubai. This was confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ritish Ramphul, in a statement to RadioPlus on Tuesday afternoon, December 9.

The Mauritian student tragically passed away yesterday in a jet ski accident in Jumeirah, coinciding with her 17th birthday. Her cousin, who was engaged in the same activity, sustained a foot injury and required surgery, but her condition is now stable.

"Everything is being done to support and assist the family, who have traveled to the Emirates," Minister Ramphul stated.

Local authorities are currently investigating to ascertain the exact circumstances of this tragedy. The news has deeply affected the family and loved ones of the victim back in Mauritius.
