Animal Cruelty: Sixty Dogs Found in Appalling Condition in Trou-aux-Biches

More than sixty dogs were found in appalling condition at a facility in Trou-aux-Biches. This discovery occurred on the morning of Friday, December 12, following a report made to the Mauritius Society for Animal Welfare (MSAW). The organization responsible for animal welfare responded quickly by going to the site.

Additionally, an aggressive Cane Corso was identified among the dogs. Many animals were left to fend for themselves, without food or water.

The MSAW also discovered the presence of a skull and animal bones. These remains were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis, according to Tinagaren Govindasami, the director of MSAW.

It should be noted that the owner of this illegal facility may face prosecution for Breach of the Animal Welfare Act. If found guilty, he could face a fine of up to Rs 500,000 and a prison sentence of up to ten years.
