Alcohol and Drugs Behind the Wheel: 12 Drivers Spent New Year's Eve in a Sobering Cell

While the country was celebrating the New Year, police were vigilant across the island. Last night, December 31st, 12 drivers were caught during roadblocks. Among them, 11 drivers had high blood alcohol levels, and one had consumed drugs. These are the first to be penalized under the new points-based license system that took effect on January 1, 2026.
