Alcohol and Drugs Behind the Wheel: 12 Drivers Spent New Year's Eve in Sobering Cells

As the country celebrated New Year's Eve, the police were vigilant across the island. Last night, December 31st, 12 drivers were caught during roadblocks. Among them, 11 drivers had high blood alcohol levels, and one had consumed drugs. They are the first to face penalties under the new points-based driving license system that took effect on January 1, 2026.
