Fire in an Apartment at Résidence Vallijee: A Woman Burned on the Neck and Hands

A nightmarish start to the year for a 46-year-old woman living at Résidence Vallijee. A fire broke out in her first-floor apartment shortly after 1 AM on January 1st. Firefighters from Coromandel quickly arrived on the scene and managed to contain the blaze.

However, the woman suffered burns to her hands and neck. The police transported her to Dr. A. G. Jeetoo Hospital, where she was subsequently transferred to Victoria Hospital in Candos and admitted to the Burns Unit. An investigation has been launched by the Fire Investigation Unit to determine the cause of the fire.
