Fire in an Apartment at Vallijee Residence: A Woman Burned on Her Neck and Hands

A nightmare start to the year for a 46-year-old woman living at Vallijee Residence. A fire broke out in her first-floor apartment shortly after 1 AM on January 1st. Firefighters from Coromandel quickly responded to the scene and managed to contain the blaze.

However, the woman suffered burns to her hands and neck. The police transported her to Dr. A. G. Jeetoo Hospital, and she was later transferred to Victoria Hospital in Candos, where she was admitted to the Burns Unit. An investigation has been initiated by the Fire Investigation Unit to determine the cause of the fire.
