Title: Beltrami Kemayou Attacks a French Woman in Calodyne Before Killing His Partner in Petit Raffray

The main suspect in the murder of Sivanee Saminaden, her partner Beltrami Kemayou, allegedly also violently attacked a French national in Calodyne.

It all began early on the morning of Sunday, January 4, 2026, around 2 AM. A 65-year-old French woman, driving her car, had stopped at a traffic light on the royal road in Calodyne when she was brutally attacked by 24-year-old Beltrami Kemayou. The Cameroonian national reportedly opened the passenger door of her car, bit the woman's nose and lips, and fled the scene. A piece of the woman's nose was said to have been torn off during the attack. She received first aid at a health center in Grand Baie before being transferred to a private clinic for specialized care.

After this incident, the Cameroonian returned home to Petit Raffray, where he fatally assaulted his partner, Sivanee Saminaden. The lifeless body of the 29-year-old woman was discovered half-naked on the ground. She also had multiple facial injuries and wounds on various parts of her body. According to initial indications from the investigation, the couple had been having issues since December 31, 2025. On the day of the murder (January 4, 2026), Sivanee Saminaden was reportedly struck on the head with a table, beaten, and then strangled. The Cameroonian also placed their 6-month-old baby in a garbage bin behind the house before fleeing. The child was discovered by neighbors and is currently hospitalized in stable condition. An autopsy conducted on Sivanee Saminaden's body attributed her death to strangulation.

After killing his partner and leaving their home, Beltrami Kemayou allegedly went to Anse la Raie beach, where he threatened a 16-year-old boy camping with his family with a knife and assaulted him. The teenager's aunt, who witnessed the scene, tried to save her nephew and was also attacked. The boy sustained injuries to his face and hand, while the aunt was injured in the face.

Beltrami Kemayou was eventually subdued by members of the public and left unconscious on the beach. He was admitted to SSRN Hospital for treatment under heavy police surveillance. He is expected to appear in court for multiple assault charges and for the murder of his partner upon his release.

It should be noted that Beltrami Kemayou arrived in Mauritius on February 23, 2023, and his visa reportedly expired on May 25, 2023. He has been living in the country illegally for nearly two and a half years.
