Murder in Petit-Raffray: Beltrami Kemayou in irregular situation in Mauritius since 2023, funeral of Sivanee Saminaden this afternoon

The funeral of Sivanee Saminaden, aged 29, takes place this Monday, January 5th, in the afternoon. This young mother was killed yesterday, Sunday, January 4th, by her partner, Beltrami Bolzalo Kemayou, a 24-year-old Cameroonian national. The suspect is currently hospitalized in the North. According to initial investigation findings, he has been in an irregular situation in Mauritius since 2023.

The cries of Sivanee Saminaden's infant and Beltrami Bolzalo Kemayou alerted the neighbors. The six-month-old girl was reportedly abandoned by her father in a barrel. Alerted just before 10 a.m., the Goodlands police arrived at the couple's home. There, they discovered the lifeless body of Sivanee Saminaden.

Her partner was later found on Anse-La-Raie beach. He had been lynched by onlookers who witnessed his attack on a 16-year-old boy. Earlier, he also violently assaulted a French female driver in Calodyne, allegedly biting her on the nose and lips before fleeing.

Currently hospitalized, the police are waiting for Beltrami Bolzalo Kemayou to recover so they can question him. As for the couple's daughter, she remains in the hospital. The Ministry of Gender Equality hopes a relative will come forward to take care of the child. If not, the infant will be placed in a shelter until a foster family is found.
