Points-Based Driving License: Online Points Consultation Soon Available on Mokloud Platform
The points-based driving license system will come into effect once the police and judiciary's computer systems are synchronized, stated Transport Minister Osman Mahomed. Once the system is operational, authorities will be able to upload the points assigned on the Penalty Points Certificate via the digital platform Mokloud, as Osman Mahomed announced in a message posted on his Facebook page on Monday, January 5. Below are the key points regarding the penalty points system that the minister shared on his Facebook page. His ministry will soon release a detailed statement on this matter, he added. Starting this month, drivers will be able to log into this platform to check the number of points assigned to them based on the traffic violations committed. This solution will replace the Driving Licence Counterpart, Transport Minister Osman Mahomed stated on RadioPlus this afternoon. It is important to note that some amendments to the Road Traffic Act have already been in effect since January 1, 2026, marking the first phase of the road framework reform.
