Final Farewells to Dr. Ram Seegobin, Who Passed Away at the Age of 84

Dr. Deoprasad Seegobin, better known as Ram, passed away yesterday, Wednesday, January 28, at the age of 84. A well-known figure in the political landscape and the trade union world, he founded the leftist party Lalit after leaving the MMM in 1982. The funeral procession left the Moura funeral home in Petite-Rivière on Thursday at 11 a.m. to head to the Montagne Saint-Pierre crematorium in Bambous. Many came to pay their last respects this morning. Among those present were Alain Ah Vee and Rajini Lallah, former ministers Alan Ganoo and Steven Obeegadoo, as well as the former President of the Republic, Cassam Uteem, and his son Reza Uteem, the Minister of Labour.
