Last Farewell to Dr. Ram Seegobin, Who Passed Away at Age 84

Dr. Deoprasad Seegobin, better known as Ram, passed away yesterday, Wednesday, January 28, at the age of 84. A well-known figure in the political landscape and labor movement, he founded the left-wing party Lalit after leaving the MMM in 1982. The funeral procession departed from the Moura funeral home in Petite-Rivière this Thursday at 11 AM, heading to the crematorium at Montagne Saint-Pierre in Bambous. Many came to pay their last respects this morning. Among those present were former ministers Alain Ah Vee and Rajini Lallah, as well as Alan Ganoo, Steven Obeegadoo, former President Cassam Uteem, and his son Reza Uteem, the Minister of Labor.
