Content: The Minister of Health, Anil Bachoo, has emphasized that the number of cancer cases has reached alarming levels, particularly highlighting that breast cancer is especially concerning. He added that the government is allocating significant funds for treatments, but the priority remains on prevention.

Furthermore, Anil Bachoo announced that screening and awareness campaigns will be conducted by the Non-Communicable Diseases unit.

It is noteworthy that according to the National Cancer Registry, 3,362 new cases were recorded in 2024: 1,471 in men and 1,891 in women. The report also noted 1,649 cancer-related deaths in the same year.
